Activities in and around Påskallavik
Nordic Walking (Stavgång) - We have staffs to lend including tips of beautiful walking paths on the coast-land and in the old agricultural environment. Källströmsgården, Stone craft museum, Emsfors old paper-mill, Ems mansion with one of the best salmon fishing waters in the world where river Em throws itself into the Baltic Sea... Boule/petanque - Maybe you'll find the world's most beautifully situated course in Påskallavik. Borrow balls from us and challenge each other in a game with the sea as spectator. Right next to the course is the place for beach-volley - very popular at summer.
Golf - 10 minutes away. Skorpetorps golf course, run by Oskarshamns GK, is a very nice and appreciated 18-hole course in a mixed park- and forest environment.
Canoeing/Kayaking - The beautiful archipelago with the myriad of islands is ideal for kayaking. Kanotturer Villa Emsnäs lets canoes and kayaks that allow you to explore the sea, a nearby lake or the mystic and beautiful river Em. (Emån)
Boat trips - If you want to see the archipelago without having to put an own effort into it you can join one of the trips organized by M/S Solkust. Every day there are trips to island Blue Maiden (Blå Jungfrun), "Enegatan" a very unique cluster of islands and other places. You can also join a Shrimp cruise and eat as much as you like while slowly cruising around.

Urberg 500 is a unique attraction 30 km north of Påskallavik. An exciting guided tour, free of charge, brings you 500 meters down under and 1,8 billion years back in time. Pre-registration is mandatory and we´ll be glad to be at your service.
Fredriksbergs Herrgård (Fredriksbergs Manor House) in Oskarshamn is a Manor House with the interior decoration and furniture, dating from late 18th century, kept intact.
Döderhultar museum in Oskarshamn with the famous collection of wooden sculptures made by
Axel "Döderhultarn" Pettersson.
Stensjö by (Stensjö village) the beautiful village north of Oskarshamn. Enjoy the old culturally significant landscape around this village, which retained its fragmented holdings, contrary to land consolidation reforms. The village contains buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries.
Astrid Lindgrens world in Vimmerby brings joy and laughter to the whole family.
Kingdom of Crystal where you can learn about glass blowing and explore the shops where you can bargain unique, Swedish, handmade crystal.
Within one hour you also reach the popular island of Öland, the cities of Västervik, Kalmar, Hultsfred etc. that offer many interesting sightseeing spots.
...and when you just want to relax, sit down in the Blue Maiden park (Blå Jungfru-parken) right outside our garden and just enjoy the view over the mythic island where the witches fly from Påskallavik every Maundy Thursday.
